As we reach the mid-point of the 2009 wedding season, it is fun to take a breath and think back on all of the amazing weddings we have photographed so far this year. Busy might be a giant understatement, but we have had a blast working with so many great couples and look forward to fabulous weddings we have ahead. Bookings for 2010 have been strong, so all around we are in a very happy place. We barely had time to re-pack from Christan and Dan’s wedding in New York before we headed out again to photograph Brooke and Chad’s wedding in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There is no place I would rather be than on a beach or playing in the ocean, so I have to admit I was thrilled just to have the chance to smell the salty breeze. The wedding weekend was super fun! Everything kicked-off on Thursday night with an informal beach session with Brooke and Chad, which wrapped up with a few shots of the family on the beach. Friday morning we did a shoot with the bride and groom alone, and then everyone returned to the hotel to get ready for the rehearsal dinner that evening. Saturday was the wedding ceremony, which was held at the Members Club at Grande Dunes. The day was fun and relaxed - the guys headed out for a round of golf while the girls spent the morning at the salon. Fortunately, we were able to find some time before the ceremony to photograph the bridal party on the beach. The weather had been a bit questionable and I was a bit nervous about how the day would play out. We could see the rain rolling in from the distance, so we picked up our tempo a bit and took a lot of great beach shots…really fast! We got back to the beach cabana just before the heavens broke loose. Fortunately, the rain passed and all was well for the ceremony later that afternoon. Following the ceremony the bridal party met back at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes to hop on a friends yacht for a fun ride down the intercostal waterway to the reception. Good times were had by all, and I was so thrilled to a part of all the festivities. Congrats!!
