Hello to all of my wonderful friends and blog readers.  I’m Amy Shepherd, a Wedding Photographer from Louisville, Kentucky. This blog is designed to give you a little insight into my life and business, so to get things started I will share a bit about me.  We all wear many different hats and some of my favorites include: being a wife to the super awesome Paul Shepherd, a mother of two amazing little boys, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and of course a PHOTOGRAPHER!  I love…  singing opera in the shower, chocolate, spring, vacations (anytime and anywhere), date nights out, family nights at home, flowers, wearing scarves in the winter, taking walks, Paul’s Thai chicken recipe, long veils in the wind, sunglasses, smiles….

I feel that photography is a means of expression that transforms your life and experiences into tangible works of art.  Everyone is familiar with the expression “a picture is worth a thousand words” but I would venture to say that the moment captured in an image is priceless.  The sweet expression of a child, a father’s face as he embraces his daughter at the alter,  the love shared between a bride and groom as they dance together for the first time are all moments for which the personal value transcends any monetary cost.  The investment in beautiful and timeless imagery is one of the most important choices you can make for your family.  I love my job for many reasons, but primarily because it allows me to share in the lives of so many wonderful people. I am always honored when a client entrusts to me the great responsibility of capturing the most important moments of their life and love. Every client that I work with has such a unique spirit, and it is my passion to capture the essence of their personality through the images that I take. Rather than discussing “my style” I would prefer to spend time getting to know your style. I am committed to creating a set of images that represent who you are. There is nothing more frustrating than looking at a picture of yourself and feeling stiff, uncomfortable and posed. My goal is to lend guidance when you need it, but then to step back and let you have room to just be yourself. I work to develop lasting relationships with my clients; I want to be there for all of the important events. It is my hope that each person I work with will develop into lifetime clients.

It would be impossible to do what I do without the constant love, support and encouragement of my friends and family. Thank you for all that you do for me!
